I would like to see more control over the elements of the assets produced by the content engine. 
Perhaps a "Canva-like" ability to move things more freely.
Especially when it comes to text as it can quickly become crowded in the limited space.

Or... perhaps even a Canva integration (or format export from GW?) so Assets can be pushed to Canva for complete editing over there?  I mean, IF this is easier to create, why reinvent the desktop-design-in-the-cloud wheel when Canva have it nailed (at least as far as a general content publishing tool that anybody can use is concerned). 
My understanding, and use of GW currently is that its great to punch out an MVP, or the first round of Good-Better-Best (i.e. 'Good'), and then either evolve the design further yourself in your design tools of preference, or contract a design pro to do it for you.  I have a great one in Bangladesh for very reasonable rates if you want an intro.
I've also found personally that the space limitations on text in GW can be handy to push one to optimise brevity.
EDIT / UPDATE: 
In answering another new suggestion today, I've realised this may be more helpful right now for you too - short version - Export to PDF, Convert to PPT (free online converter from Adobe), Open in PPT or Google Slides, and edit however you like. :)

I love the canva integration idea. I have a pro account with canva that i use regularly to create slides, social designs etc. 
If could use canva to create or customize slides then integrate them in GW for webinars or whatever else it would be so much easier.
